Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide to join the Cawthra Gardens Community in Mississauga. You will contribute to compassionate resident care by assisting with meal preparation and service, while following individual dietary plans and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Committed to providing compassionate support for seniors to live life to the fullest.
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant or hospitality settings.
• A Food Service Worker Certificate is a plus but not required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check as required by province.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of meals and follow residents' dietary needs.
• Ensure tables are set/cleared and dining areas are sanitized; follow proper food handling practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

Food Preparation & Food Handling

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
