The Dietary Aide is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.

As a Dietary Aide, your typical day will impact in the following ways:

1. Following proper food handling techniques.
2. Date labeling and proper storage of food.
3. Keeping work areas clean and uncluttered, completing scheduled cleaning duties.
4. Maintaining cleanliness of floors in food preparation, dishroom, and storage areas.
5. Supporting all aspects of food service to meet residents' needs in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements, and organizational standards.
6. Assisting in meal preparation, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and preferences, and using proper portion sizes.
7. Taking orders for menu choices from residents, considering their preferences and dislikes.
8. Setting and clearing tables, and sanitizing tables, chairs, and serveries.
9. Performing other duties as assigned.

Must Haves:

• Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Knowledge of proper food service and handling procedures.
• Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as dishwashers, conveyor toasters, and meat slicers.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Successful completion of the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario) or Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).
