Job summary

Providence Care in Kingston, Ontario is seeking a Dietary Aide to provide safe and appealing meal service to Residents and guests at catering functions. The role includes cleaning, dishwashing, and proper storage, dating and rotation of all food items in accordance with health regulations.

The position requires completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program or LTC Act qualifications, and English literacy.

Qualifications

• Successful completion or enrolment in a Food Service Worker training program or meeting LTC Act qualifications.
• Previous LTC experience is an asset.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal service for residents, staff, and guests as assigned
• Check temperature and condition of all food items
• Partition food items in appropriate portion size
• Transport food carts/catering wagons to designated areas
• Set up and clear dining room tables as assigned
• Perform daily cleaning duties as assigned
• Prepare between meal nourishments and unit kitchen floor supplies as assigned
• Ensure proper delivery, storage, dating and rotation of all items
• Maintain clean work station, equipment, and storage areas
