Dietary Aide, Food & Nutrition Services - 1 position

Part Time
Salary Range: $26.85 - $27.05 /hour

We are an integrated team that provides food and nutrition services to our patients and residents at all sites of St. Joseph's Health Care London. Our vision is to provide nutritional care that nourishes patients and residents, body, mind and spirit. We support our patients, community and the planet driven by our menu components which includes the patient voice, clinical requirements, budget, operations and sustainability. This is accomplished through our goals of increasing our local purchasing, growing fresh vegetables on site seasonally, composting and decreasing our food waste. Our departments operate within varying shifts from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.

Essential Qualifications

  1. Secondary (High) School Diploma
  2. Safe Food Handlers certification, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire
  3. Knowledge of institutional food service, therapeutic diets and safe food handling
  4. Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  5. Ability to read and write English
  6. Health and physical condition with constant bending, standing, walking, and lifting up to 28 kg
  7. Strong customer service commitment
  8. Ability to work in a busy environment with minimal supervision and as a team member
  9. Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Proficiency in French would be an asset
  2. Previous food service experience

Teaching and Research

  1. St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role-related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties.

Immunization Requirements

  1. Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series/boosters, XBB or KP.2) OR one dose of KP.2 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
  2. Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  3. Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
