Job summary

Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre seeks a Dietary Aide to support all kitchen operations and ensure quality service to clients, patients and residents. Training will be provided and duties include meal prep, distribution and maintaining safety standards.

The role requires Grade 12 or equivalent, a valid G driver’s license (or ability to obtain one), and a Food Handler Certificate (preferred or obtained during probation). Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
• Must have valid G driver's license; certification may be obtained during probation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Physical ability to perform all assigned tasks.
• Ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute meals; transport patient meal carts to and from care areas.
• Maintain food safety standards at all times.
• Operate cash register as needed.
• Be flexible to work shifts, mainly days and weekends.
• Follow infection control policies and use of PPE; attend training when necessary.

The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to help support all kitchen operations to ensure quality service to all clients, patients, and residents. Dietary Aides follow requirements provided by dietary management and dietitians, and adheres to all policies and regulations for safety, hygiene and facility food preparation guidelines. Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.


• Must have valid G driver’s license or capable of completing upon date of hire.


• Preference will be given to candidates with a current Food Handler Certificate; otherwise, certification must be obtained during the probationary period.


• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.


• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.


• Must be physically able to perform all assigned tasks.


• Applicants must have the ability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends depending on the schedule.

Job Duties:

• Food preparation and distribution of patient and resident meals including transportation of patient meal cart to and from patient care areas.


• Maintain food safety standards at all times.


• Knowledge operation of cash register an asset.


• Must have flexibility to work shifts as assigned, mainly days and weekends.


• Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of Infection Control measures and attend training when necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Considerable walking, lifting, standing, pushing, pulling and bending.
