Tirecraft in Dorchester, ON is seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician to maintain and repair diesel fleets, focusing on diagnostics and system repairs to ensure peak performance.

Qualifications

  • Diesel technician certification 310T or 310J required.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service specific requirements.
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using diagnostic tools to diagnose faults.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of diesel systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems.
  • Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
  • Advise customers and/or Service Advisor on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.

This is an hourly position with wages ranging from $39.00-$44.00, based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate fault.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of diesel systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
  • Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
  • Advise customers and/or Service Advisor on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor or determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
  • Test and adjust units to specifications to proper performance.
Qualifications
  • Diesel Service Technician 310T or 310J certification
  • Consistently able to work independently
  • Intermediate drivability diagnostics
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Problem Solving Skills to work independently and with a team
