Job Summary

Qualified applicants are expected to be highly skilled and certified diesel mechanics with extensive knowledge in maintenance of diesel equipment and our fleet of trucks. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you'll perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment. You’ll work independently on equipment requiring high skill levels in hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of relevant work experience (additional experience preferred)
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, or other requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards and safety procedures
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify issues
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles and equipment of moderate complexity
• Use vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs
• Estimate costs for repairs and requisition parts
• Notify supervisor if additional work is needed or repairs cannot be completed within standard times
• Perform emergency breakdown service calls
• Conduct safety checks and perform maintenance as required
• Work with minimal supervision at times
• Complete paperwork using fleet maintenance software for repairs and parts documentation
