Practice Details

The Interior Health Authority Department of Medical Imaging in Kamloops is seeking to recruit a full‑time radiologist with an Interventional Radiology subspecialty.

At Royal Inland Hospital, we provide services in x‑ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, digital mammography, nuclear medicine, and bone densitometry. Renovations for a new IR suite and construction of a new cancer centre are both scheduled to begin in 2025.

Our vascular practice is broad and growing.

It includes trauma/inpatient embolization, peripheral vascular interventions, fibroid embolization, fistula management, and an assortment of outpatient vascular cases. We have begun to develop an Interventional Oncology program as well.

CLINIC DETAILS: ROYAL INLAND HOSPITAL

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH), a 273‑bed facility, serves as the primary referral centre for nearly 250,000 individuals within the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Area. As the region’s leading tertiary referral hospital and Level 1 Trauma Centre, RIH expertly manages over 250 major trauma cases and accommodates 72,000 Emergency Department visits each year.

The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower, a $417‑million expansion opened in the summer of 2022, has propelled RIH into a new healthcare era, featuring advanced mental health units and surgical services. In 2024, we completed our new post‑anesthetic recovery room and pediatric unit, while revamping the emergency entrance – with the department's full completion on track for autumn 2026. Further ambitious growth includes a $359‑million cancer centre, set to enrich our cancer care services by 2028.

Compensation

Compensation Type Fee‑for‑Service. Estimated Remuneration Fee‑for‑service plus MOCAP level 1.

Benefits and Incentives

Other Benefits/Incentives We offer relocation reimbursement of up to $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada (with eligible, detailed receipts).
