Job summary

Canadian Natural’s Fort McMurray Albian Mine is hiring a Dewatering Operator to support mine operations. You will operate dewatering pumps, perform HDPE fusing, install lines above and below ground, and help with ditch and sump construction.

This safety-sensitive 12-hour shift (7x7) requires physical endurance, a valid Class 5 license, and 2+ years in mining or oil sands. You must follow Health and Safety requirements and work with heavy equipment including loaders and dozers.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Capable of repetitively lifting up to 50 lbs.
• 2+ years' experience in a mining/oil sands environment.
• Previous dewatering experience and HDPE pipeline handling are assets.

Responsibilities

• Safe execution of dewatering tasks, pump setup/removal and HDPE fusing.
• Install HDPE lines above and below ground; perform ditch and sump work.
• Monitor water discharge to the environment and perform pump checks.
• Fuel equipment and troubleshoot 4"–12" dewatering pumps as needed.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment safely ( loaders, dozer, excavator).
