Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources is seeking a Dewatering Operator at Albian Mine, Fort McMurray, Alberta. You will support dewatering goals and safely operate heavy equipment to meet Operations’ objectives.

Responsibilities include pump setup/removal, HDPE fusion, trenching/pipeline work, and monitoring water discharge in compliance with safety and environmental standards. Requires 2+ years in mining/oil sands, lifting up to 50 lbs, and a valid Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a mining/oil sands environment.
• Previous dewatering experience considered an asset.
• Previous trenching/pipeline work considered an asset.
• HDPE pipeline handling experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safe execution of varied work scopes including dewatering pump setup/removal, HDPE fusing, and installing HDPE lines above and below ground.
• Dewatering tasks such as ditch and sump construction, monitoring water discharge to environment, fueling, pump checks and basic troubleshooting of 4”-12” dewatering pumps.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely and reliably, including loaders, dozer, excavator and graders, with attention to 3-point contact.
• Comply with Health and Safety requirements and regulatory standards in Alberta.
• Support and implement dewatering goals as part of the Mine Operations Projects Department.

Education

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
