Affinity Group is seeking a DevOps Specialist to partner with service modernization teams in public sector projects. You will design automation, manage CI/CD pipelines, and lead production operations from deployment through maintenance, ensuring reliability, security, and a strong user experience.

The role requires collaboration with product owners, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to scope improvements, implement scalable solutions, and support rapid delivery of digital services.

Qualifications

• 3 years - Experience with research, analysis and problem solving.
• 3 years - Experience documenting issues, solutions, and procedures.
• 2 years - Experience leveraging generative AI and agentic tooling to produce executive-grade outputs, including drafting, analysis, structured retrieval, and workflow automation. Demonstrates proficiency in prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and critical evaluation of AI outputs for accuracy, risk, hallucination, and sensitivity. Actively builds AI-augmented workflows and routines, going beyond basic tool usage to drive productivity and decision quality.
• 3 years - Experience with access tools like SSH Clients and Remote Desktop.
• 3 years - Experience with basic security awareness such as secrets management and the principle of least privilege.
• 3 years - Duration - Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage), or Azure (Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage), with a focus on deploying scalable data solutions and optimizing data pipelines for a range of projects.
• 4 years - Experience with command line interfaces for command execution and file system traversal.
• 1 year - Experience with networking tools like DNS lookups, Trace Routes and load balancing.
• 4 years - Experience with scripting tools, such as Powershell.
• 2 years - Experience as a DevOps Specialist supporting the continuous delivery of custom-built solutions.
• 2 years - Experience in designing and deploying Hybrid cloud applications using Red Hat Openshift.
• 2 years - Experience with IaC tools (ex. Terraform).
• 3 years - Experience with VS Code or Visual Studio 2019 or higher.
• 3 years - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Create scripts, tools, and procedures for operations by designing and implementing automation for limited downtime deployment and maintenance.
• Lead operations of digital services in production by: Managing configuration and credentials for the production environment; Planning and managing maintenance activities; and Managing database upgrades and migrations, backups, recoveries, etc.
• Provide operations support for implementation and enhancement of digital services by: Creating templates and patterns for application deployments and CI/CD pipelines; and Creating scripts and tools to automate the establishment of environments for development and testing.
• Creating tools, scripts and processes that will enable application teams to have better observability of the application through monitoring and telemetry tools.
• Support delivery teams in adopting best practices by: Providing operations support for early and frequent integration testing, security scans, system testing, and performance and load testing; and Providing operations support for early and frequent delivery to end-users in limited availability launches (Alphas and Betas).
• Removal of manual processes through the implementation of automated/AI solutions.
