Job summary

PCL Construction Management Inc. in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Junior Estimator to support bids and prepare estimates for projects in Southern Alberta.

You will assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing, and organizing bid documents, while building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field, or equivalent trade experience, and familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
  • Some relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of the construction industry and bid preparation principles.
  • Understanding and use of takeoff systems.
  • Ability to converse with and solicit trades; comfortable with cold-calling.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with subtrade partners and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite; aptitude for new technology.
