Job summary

Spirit of Math is hiring a Level 3 Assistant Teacher to actively support classroom instruction and, when qualified, independently teach as a substitute. This role is designed as a developmental pathway toward becoming a Primary Teacher with classroom exposure and performance-based progression.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's Degree, are 18+, and can commit to regular weekly shifts, with strong professional communication and classroom conduct.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a Bachelor's Degree and hired as an employee.
• Mandatory background screening (vulnerability check).
• Completion and passing of FTM 1.
• Completion and passing of FTM 2.

Responsibilities

• Support lesson delivery alongside the Primary Teacher.
• Lead pre-assigned classroom activities such as group work or core topics.
• Provide targeted support to new and struggling students.
• Assist with homework sessions when assigned.
• Maintain classroom flow while the Primary Teacher attends to individual needs or parents.
• Support assessment and update Brightspace records as required.
• Independently teach or substitute teach in the absence of the primary teacher.
