Beedie is seeking a Development Coordinator to join our Ontario team. You will support our development managers through acquisition, design development, and occupancy, coordinating budgets, schedules, and approvals for multiple GTA projects.

You will review documents, perform market and policy research, and manage communications with consultants and stakeholders. A strong background in real estate development and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist Development Managers with projects from acquisition through occupancy.
  • Support design development, budget updates, and document submissions.
  • Track and manage development approvals and permit processes.
  • Research municipal policies and market fundamentals related to development.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and council updates.
  • Review legal and title materials and summarize key points.
  • Coordinate meetings, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare proposals, submittals, and clrisis for external consultants.
  • Assist with drawing reviews and coordinating design markups.
  • Track consultant deliverables and due diligence documents.
  • Support client office and warehouse improvement projects.
  • Assist with cost tracking, proforma updates, and variances.
  • Coordinate recurring reporting for stakeholders (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual).

Position Overview

Our Development Coordinator plays a key role in assisting the Development Managers with speculative and design build projects from initial acquisition and design/development phase through to occupancy.

We are looking for a highly organized individual with a real estate, engineering, finance, construction, or architectural background wanting to join a very active development team supporting multiple projects within the Greater Toronto Area.

Salary Range

The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role. Additionally, Beedie recognizes exceptional individual and team performance through our pay-for-performance bonus program. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling the project from initial acquisition through the design development phase and working with the construction team to ensure a seamless transition to construction and occupancy.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of documents required for development applications including but not limited to Regional Plan Amendments, Zoning Amendments, Site Plan Approval, Draft Plan Approval and Conservation and Stormwater Management Permits)
  • Research and understand emerging municipal and regional policies and plan changes as they relate to industrial development.
  • Research and understand market fundamentals as they relate to industrial development.
  • Track Council updates and progression of relevant projects/policies and provide updates to the Development Team.
  • Use municipal GIS tools to obtain zoning and property information and review information for any property restrictions or encumbrances.
  • Review and summarize basic legal title documents and title reports.
  • Schedule and manage meetings, take minutes/notes, update development budgets, and undertake necessary follow-up.
  • Assist with the compilation and review of all materials necessary for outgoing proposals and RFP’s.
  • Create subcontracts, change orders and purchase orders
  • Prepare, submit and track Request for Proposals to various external consultants.
  • Assist with drawing review and compile mark ups from other departments.
  • Manage and track consultant deliverables including design plans, legal surveys, landscape and civil drawing packages, and due diligence documents.
  • Provide support for any client’s office and warehouse improvements process.
  • Support budget management and proforma updates including cost tracking, budget creation, and reconciliations, while identifying variances.
  • Coordinate recurring reporting requirements for company stakeholders, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions, while tracking schedules and team inputs
