Qualifications

Job description

Join the hardworking and dedicated team delivering exciting arts and culture programs and activities to our community and beyond. Reporting to the Development Officer the Development Coordinator will be accountable for supporting the fundraising operations of the Aurora Cultural Centre to realize the mission of the Aurora Cultural Centre (ACC). The Development Coordinator supports relationship building in the community stewardship of patrons and conducts research and data-mining to stimulate opportunities for people to connect with the Aurora Cultural Centre.

The Development Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and preparing communications with partners donors and Board committee members is the lead on fundraising events and the donor CRM software. The position is a permanent full-time role. Office hours are 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 pm Monday to Friday with a requirement for flexibility for work at events on evenings weekends start early stay late as required. Pre-approved periods of over-time may be required.

Job Description :

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

  • Lead for prospecting research activities

Individuals

  • Foundations / Trusts
  • Support Board Development Committee meetings and actions
  • Support stewardship of all sponsors and donors
  • Prepare corporate proposals
  • Grant writing tracking and reporting
  • Track and support delivery of sponsor benefits
  • Donor / Sponsor research and reporting
  • Create internal and external communication packages write copy and design
  • Organize and maintain paper files for development activities

Other

  • Undertaking additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

Education

  • Minimum completion of Community College or similar
  • Relevant education in sales marketing customer service or equivalent
  • Office Administration certificate an asset
  • Fundraising / development training or certification an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a fundraising and / or grant writing role;
  • Fundraising in arts or social programming an asset preferably performing arts arts education or galleries

  • Experience working with volunteers is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office (Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint) experience with Donor Perfect and Canva is an asset.

Location : This role is in person at the Aurora Cultural Centre offices. Flexibility can be given for remote work on dedicated tasks.

Salary : $38000-45000 salary range. Upon successful completion of a 3-month probation period the successful candidate will also participate in a full suite of employee benefits including : group medical and dental benefits an Employee Assistance Program an employer RRSP contribution paid personal days paid vacation days paid time off for 14 recognized holidays and professional development opportunities.
