Job summary

Clarity, a Canadian fintech startup based in Vancouver, is seeking a Developer Experience Engineer to build internal tooling that accelerates engineering teams. You will ship AI-enabled workflows, improve developer experiences, and partner across platform, product, security, and data teams.

You will own tooling initiatives from ideation to production, creating golden paths for common workflows, and elevating documentation and onboarding to reduce friction for engineers across the org.

Qualifications

• Experience building internal developer tools or platform tooling.
• Strong software engineering ability across scripts, services, and APIs.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI in software delivery.
• Ability to turn developer pain points into actionable tooling experiments.
• Familiarity with modern development workflows: Git, code review, CI/CD, observability.

Responsibilities

• Build internal tools, templates, scripts, and workflows to reduce friction in local development, testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
• Lead practical AI adoption across engineering by evaluating tools and creating usage patterns.
• Partner with product engineers to identify bottlenecks and measure tooling impact on speed and quality.
• Create golden paths for common workflows, including new services and release processes.
• Improve documentation, onboarding, and self-service support for engineers.
• Design automation to reduce manual handoffs and simplify operations.
• Contribute production-quality code and collaborate with platform, product engineering, security, and data teams.
