Job summary

Wealthsimple Technologies is seeking a senior developer to build AI-enabled developer platforms. You will craft containerized environments, verification layers, and robust testing tools to empower hundreds of engineers.

You’ll modernize libraries and tooling to accelerate shipping high-quality code to millions of users. You’ll work in a hybrid, North American team, collaborating across disciplines, mentoring teammates, and using metrics to drive impactful decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience, preferably in a platform-oriented team.
• 7+ years experience with Ruby, Python, TypeScript, or Kotlin.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining internal libraries, frameworks, or tooling used by other teams.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and coding agents in production environments.
• Builder's instinct for AI tooling and evaluating correctness of outputs.
• Curiosity for fast, reliable developer experience and interest in industry trends.
• Collaborative mindset with mentorship focus and coaching others.
• Data-informed decision making using metrics to measure impact.

Responsibilities

• Build substrate for agentic development with containerized environments across services.
• Develop verification layer for AI-native development ensuring safe, quick changes.
• Improve test signals to be fast, deterministic, and actionable.
• Modernize core libraries and CLI to support microservices and automated developer setup.
• Create robust backend mocking and enable isolated testing of asynchronous workflows.
• Define and measure operational excellence with automated scorecards across services.
