Job summary

Intact is offering a DevOps Intern position in Montreal, Canada, for the Winter Term. The role targets students currently pursuing a software-related degree and requires bilingual (English/French) capabilities for Quebec.

You will participate in designing innovative IT solutions, analyze business processes, and support transformative projects with mentoring support, aiming to grow both technically and professionally.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a university degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Understand the software development lifecycle and be curious about continuous delivery pipelines and testing;
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and tests code changes to fix defects and enhance software products.
• Troubleshoots and resolves low to moderate defects, contributing to remediation plans.
• Assist in developing requirements and provides design recommendations.
• Participates in the discovery phase of projects to create high-level designs.
• Assists in automating deployment of solutions as code.
• Technical skills required: Java, Groovy/Gradle, Jenkins, Angular, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Learn and apply best practices including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Work with the guidance of a dedicated mentor.

Salary for the candidate

will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35‑hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

In The DevOps Intern Role, You Will

• Work with the guidance of a dedicated mentor (Success Partner)
• Technical Skills Back-end developer: Java, Spring Boot, Maven, Python, REST & SOAP APIs, Jenkins, Git/GitHub

What You Will Bring

• Currently pursuing a university degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Understand the software development lifecycle and be curious about continuous delivery pipelines and testing;
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills;
• Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning;
• Excellent communication skills with a passion for technology;
• Self-reliant with a strong sense of responsibility;
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter Term from January 5th to April 23rd ;
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship;
• Be bilingual for all Quebec roles (English and French). Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
