Job summary

AutoCanada's Winnipeg location is seeking a Detailer in the Service Department. You will be responsible for cleaning and detailing vehicles to dealership standards, maintaining an organized workspace, and following safety protocols to deliver high-quality service to customers.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Interest in automotive industry and knowledge about vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience with cleaning products and cleaning tools (power washers is an asset).
• Dependable with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
• Able to meet physical demands: lifting, standing, using tools.

Responsibilities

• Detail interior and exterior of customer vehicles to dealership standards.
• Perform general detailing: vacuuming, deodorizing, washing.
• Ensure exteriors are clean and smudge-free; detail interiors and carpets.
• Detail dashboards, wipe surfaces, vacuum floors, and mats.
• Apply paint sealant and polish wheels/rims.
• Use hand-held tools to detail vehicles; notify supervisor of needed repairs.
• Complete quality control checklist and support service team as needed.

Your area of focus.

The Service Department Detailer is responsible for cleaning and detailing vehicles to dealership standards, ensuring both the interior and exterior are in excellent condition for customer delivery. This role supports the service team by maintaining a clean, organized workspace and following safety protocols while providing high-quality service.

What drives your day-to-day?

• Responsible for the detailing of interior and exterior of customer vehicles
• Perform general car detailing activities, including, vacuuming, deodorizing, and washing
• Ensure the exterior of cars are clean and smudge free
• Detailing interiors, wiping dash, vacuuming, and washing floor mats
• Apply paint sealant
• Clean and polish wheels and rims
• Use a variety of hand-held tools to detail the interior and exterior of cars
• Notify supervisor or appropriate technician when you notice parts of car that require repair or replacement
• Complete quality control checklist
• Perform other repair duties as required

What Are The Must-haves…

• Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
• Must be dependable, reliable, possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively
• Ability to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time and using power tools and hand-held equipment
• Excellent customer service skills
• You must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this position is $16.40 – $18 Hourly — No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
