Job summary

A leading technology service provider is looking for a Deskside Support / Help Desk / Field Service Technician. This role involves installing and troubleshooting hardware and software, providing customer support, and performing maintenance on various devices. Job description

Position : Deskside Support / Help Desk / Field Service Technician

Type : Full-time, Part-time, or Per Project

Responsibilities :

  • Perform intermediate IMAC (installs, moves, adds, changes) activities : hardware roll-outs, refreshes, and other hardware deployment related activities on PCs, laptops, printers, POS devices, etc.
  • Perform deskside support services, including installing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Provide Level 1 or Level 2 Help Desk support
  • Perform basic LAN and internetworking activities
  • Handle depot service repairs & remedial maintenance
  • Respond to, update, and close calls from the National Dispatch / Call Management Center
  • Communicate with customers to diagnose problems, establish E.T.A., and parts requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and / or Abilities Required :

  • 1-2 years of field service experience involving hardware roll-outs, refreshes, and deployment activities
  • 1-2 years of deskside support experience
  • Strong internetworking and troubleshooting skills
  • Valid A+ certification
  • Additional vendor certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, or OEMs (Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, HP) are a plus
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Capable of completing tasks effectively with minimal supervision
  • Flexible work schedule availability
  • Minimum of a Diploma from a recognized IT program
