Job description

Position : Deskside Support / Help Desk / Field Service Technician

Location : Moncton, New Brunswick

Type : Full-time / Part-time or Per Project

Responsibilities :

  • Perform intermediate IMAC (installs, moves, adds, changes) activities: hardware roll-outs, refreshes, and other deployment-related activities on PCs, laptops, printers, POS devices, etc.
  • Handle software installation, support, and upgrades
  • Perform deskside support services installing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Provide Level 1 & 2 Help Desk support
  • Perform basic LAN and internetworking activities
  • Handle bench repairs (depot service) & remedial maintenance
  • Respond to, update, and close calls from the National Dispatch / Call Management Center
  • Communicate with customers to diagnose problems, establish E.T.A., and parts requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required :

  • 1-2 years of field service experience in hardware roll-outs, refreshes, and deployment activities
  • 1-2 years of deskside support experience
  • Strong internetworking and troubleshooting skills
  • Having an A+ certification is required
  • Vendor certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, and OEMs (Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, HP) are advantageous
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work various schedules
  • Minimum of a Diploma from a recognized IT program
