Job summary

ARC’TERYX in North Vancouver is seeking a Designer 2, Men’s to design product solutions for Veilance that align with our guests’ evolving needs. You will contribute to future-oriented, user-centric menswear design and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on-site in our North Vancouver office.

• Creating and executing assigned product designs with senior leaders, future oriented and user-centric
• Defining guest needs and expectations via mood boards, consumer journeys, and market analysis
• Contributing to commercialization of new technologies, including materials and construction techniques
• Creating patterns, mockups and prototypes to explore new concepts
• Providing detailed product initiations with spec drawings, pattern directions, and material info
• Collaborating with Fit & Pattern to resolve fit and construction issues
• Coordinating with Materials to test new fabrics for prototyping
• Developing understanding of Veilance materials and manufacturing techniques

In this role, you design for our Veilance product category, with a specific focus on men’s product and perspective. You bring your curiosity and passion for product to imagine and build innovative, relevant and resolved designs for the city environment. You are an innovative problem solver with a focus on collaborative teamwork.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-site. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

• Creating and executing assigned product designs alongside your senior leaders that are future oriented and user-centric
• Helping to define the current and future global guest, their needs and expectations through building mood boards, and visualizing consumer journeys and market analysis
• Contributing to the commercialization of innovative technologies, including materials, pattern, and construction techniques for existing and new product categories
• Creating patterns, mock ups, and prototypes to explore, resolve, or prove new concepts or construction techniques
• Providing detailed product initiations to the Product Development team, including spec drawings, pattern and fit directions, and material information
• Collaborating with the Fit & Pattern team to resolve fit style and construction issues, and ensure a fully commercialized product
• Coordinating with the Materials team to test new materials and ensure that necessary items are available for prototyping
• Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the materials and manufacturing techniques that Veilance works with
