Job summary

The Simcoe County District School Board invites applications for Designated Early Childhood Educator. This temporary role partners with the Kindergarten Teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program, collaborating to design engaging environments that support children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Two year ECE Diploma required.
• Proof of current CECE membership.
• At least six months recent experience in an early learning centre or day care.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Education full-day kindergarten program.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with children, families, staff and the public.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures in a timely manner.
• Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to handle stressful or emergency situations according to policies.
• Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate programs.
• Basic computer skills and strong organization/time management; able to meet deadlines.
• CPR and First Aid Certification would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a full-day early learning program with the Kindergarten Teacher.
