Job summary

IPS-Integrated Project Services in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a Design Project Manager I to lead complex facility projects in life sciences. You will direct engineering functions, coordinate client interactions, and drive manpower and resource loading to meet financial and schedule targets.

The role emphasizes risk management, change control, and development of the Project Execution Plan, with reporting to the Director of Operations and collaboration with sub-consultants.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience with at least 2 in project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or planning.
• Strong scheduling, planning, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Understanding of Earned Value and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Holds primary responsibility for scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Prepares proposals and assists in budget development.
• Manages client interactions and maintains relationships.
• Develops and maintains the Project Execution Plan.
• Prepares monthly financial and schedule reports.
• Coordinates with discipline leads on scope and planning.
• Mentors project engineers and drives process improvement.
