Gem Cabinets is seeking a creative Design Consultant to transform client ideas into beautifully designed cabinetry solutions and guide customers from concept to completion in our Edmonton showroom and on-site. You will design, quote, render, and help select materials, colors, and finishes while balancing design, function, and budget.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams, ensure accurate documentation, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in cabinet design, sales, or customer service.
• Interior design technologist qualification is an asset.
• Proficient in 2020 Design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication, organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design accurate, creative cabinet designs using blueprints and site measurements.
• Develop detailed quotes, layouts, and 3D renderings to realize client visions.
• Guide customers through material, colour, and finish selections while balancing design with budget.
• Meet clients in showroom and on-site to review designs and finalize selections.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, approved, and properly recorded.
• Conduct site measurements and account for appliances, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain professional standards by securing deposits and payments prior to order release.

We are looking for a Design Consultant to join our team and play a key role in transforming ideas into beautifully designed, functional cabinetry solutions while building strong, lasting client relationships.

What You’ll Do

• Design with Purpose: Create accurate, creative cabinet designs using blueprints, specifications, and site measurements.
• Bring Ideas to Life: Develop detailed quotes, layouts, and 3D renderings thaturn client visions into reality.
• Guide the Experience: Lead clients through material, colour, and finish selections while balancing design, function, and budget.
• Be Client-Focused: Meet with clients in the showroom and on-site to review designs, finalize selections, and ensure an exceptional experience.
• Keep Things Accurate: Ensure all documentation is complete, approved, and properly recorded.
• Measure with Precision: Conduct site measurements, confirm appliance details, and account for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC requirements.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and timing.
• Maintain Professional Standards: Ensure deposits and payments are secured prior to order release and represent the company professionally at all times.

We’re Looking for Someone Who

• Interior Design Technologist qualification considered an asset
• Minimum 1 year of experience in cabinet design, sales, or customer service
• Proficiency in 2020 Design software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills with a diplomatic approach
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and team-oriented
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for site visits
