Job summary

Cardel is seeking a part-time Design Centre Coordinator in Ottawa to support the Design Consultant and manage client files, materials, and appointments. This in-office role emphasizes organization and customer-service focus.

You will assist with design selections, prepare packages, and ensure smooth communication across suppliers and internal teams. A 6-month term, 24–29 hours weekly, with no remote option, applies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in coordination, administration, customer service, retail or residential design
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Decorating, Interior Design, Business Administration, or related
• Passion for excellence in customer service delivery
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
• Self-starter with initiative, adaptability and flexibility
• Time management, prioritization, multitasking and organizational skills
• Effective problem solving, decision making, persuasion and conflict management
• Professionalism, tact, courtesy and diplomacy skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to design centres, model homes, or construction sites

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Consultant with file preparation for new clients and organize client information
• Prepare Design Centre meeting materials and coordinate appointment setup
• Prepare and organize final Design Centre packages
• Conduct Design Centre preview appointments for prospective homebuyers and showcase options
• Create a welcoming and professional experience for homeowners and visitors
• Label, organize and maintain Design Centre samples and supplier materials
• Document and communicate homeowner selections to internal teams
• Manage incoming Design Centre inquiries and correspondence
• Prepare and process paperwork for inventory home files
• Coordinate sample requests, product updates, and supplier communications
