Job summary

Puglisevich on behalf of Odfjell Drilling is seeking Derrickmen for Offshore Newfoundland, Canada. The role involves organizing operations in pump room, mud mixing area and derrick, with duties across conditioning, testing and equipment maintenance.

Four positions on a long-term contract with rotation. Requires 1 year Derrickman and 2 years Assistant Derrickman experience on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater rig, plus AKER/MHWirth familiarity and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year experience as a Derrickman on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible.
• 2 years experience as an Assistant Derrickman on a 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible.
• 2 years previous experience with AKER and MHWirth equipment.
• Structured and organized mindset.
• High level of integrity.
• Analytical ability.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pump room and mud mixing equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Competence:

• Perform on the job training in own areas.
• Be in accordance with own competence requirements at all times.
• Know working procedures and checklists of Odfjell' s (DDI) within own area of responsibility.

Operations:

• Supervision of the pump room, mud mixing equipment and drilling fluid.
• Frequently test the properties of the drilling fluid and keep records of the results.
• Perform maintenance activities.
• Keep the driller informed about the consistency of the drilling fluid as well as the general state of the pumps.
• Operate any drilling equipment in a proper manner within its capacity limits and at the correct tempo.
• Contribute to good communication between all involved in the ongoing operation.
• Keep the workplace tidy and clean.
• Emergency duties according to the unit's emergency organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
