Deputy Senior Systems Engineer, Communication and Information Systems

This position is part of the Rotary and Mission Systems business area, supporting engineering, systems integration, training, sustainment, and in-service support programs for Canadian and international military customers across land, air, and sea.

Job Description:

The Naval Programs team supports Naval Combat Systems Programs and Proposal Capture activities across Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth). The candidate will serve as Communications (Comms) Team Deputy and Technical Lead for Systems Engineering (SE) of the Naval Comms Systems team, working across the entire engineering lifecycle from specification to maintenance and troubleshooting for naval platform subsystems.

The candidate will become the SME and responsible SE member for Communication Information Systems (CIS) subsystems, engaging in activities such as:

• Leading system and platform integration activities for shipboard CIS, including interface design
• Collaborating with customers, ship design teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve integration and installation issues
• Planning and coordinating the Comms Team's tasks
• Participating in requirements compliance assessments and verification planning
• Maintaining System Architecture and Design documentation
• Reviewing technical data, design documentation, and deliverables
• Implementing approved changes and following systems engineering best practices
• Maintaining technical specifications and statements of work

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Hardware, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with CIS
• Equivalent experience/education considered
• Experience with SW, Systems, HW, or Maintenance engineering lifecycles is an asset
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and autonomy
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience in the Military Naval domain
• Experience with Naval Communication Systems, Infrastructure, and IT
• Familiarity with DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, Jira, Windchill
• Experience with Agile, Change Management, Requirements Management, T&T, Security, EMI/EMC, Environmental Qualification
