Job summary

AG&P Canada Inc. is seeking a Deployment Specialist to orchestrate the first days of deployment for skilled workers arriving in Canada. You will coordinate airport pickups, hotel check-ins, accommodations, and onboarding activities to ensure a safe and welcoming start.

Responsibilities include guiding workers through banking, government registrations, training, and site readiness while collaborating with drivers and employers. A strong customer focus and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred or equivalent front-line experience.
• 3–5 years in deployment coordination, onboarding, settlement services, or workforce mobilization.
• Experience with Canadian onboarding (SIN, AHCIP, banking, orientation) is an asset.
• Strong organization; able to manage several groups at once.
• Customer-focused with ability to support groups up to 30 workers.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint/Teams/SharePoint).
• Experience with ATS, ERP, or workforce management platforms is an asset.
• Bilingual in English and Tagalog preferred.
• Alberta Class 5 license with clean driving record; 75–100% travel within Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan.

• Monitor progress, resolve issues, and escalate to management.
• Maintain deployment records and provide status updates.
• Deliver exceptional customer service so workers report safely to site.

Job description

Position Overview

As a Deployment Specialist, you will play a key role in helping skilled workers successfully transition to life and work in Canada. Taking ownership after handover from the Logistics Coordinator, you will lead each worker group through the critical first days of deployment, ensuring a smooth, organized, and welcoming arrival experience.

Working alongside the assigned driver, you will guide workers through each step of the onboarding process, accompanying them to required appointments and activities, including accommodation check-in, banking, government registrations, and various site preparedness duties. As the primary point of contact, you will help workers navigate their new environment while ensuring they are fully prepared to begin work safely and confidently.

Schedule

This position is a six (6)-month contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion to permanent employment. Work schedules may include:

• 14 dayson / 7 days off
• 10 dayson / 4 days off

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and extended hours isrequired.

This is an field-based position that supports operational schedules. Rotations reflect business needs and employees return home at the end of each workday.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Welcome workers upon arrival and coordinate airport pickups, hotel check-in, room assignments, and first meals.
• Lead worker groups through their first days in Canada, providing guidance, answering questions, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
• Coordinate worker visits to banking appointments, government registrations, medical and drug and alcohol testing, technical training, trade assessments, orientation sessions, and other onboarding activities.
• Coordinate accommodation, transportation, and daily schedules with the Deployment Driver to ensure all activities are completed safely and on time.
• Distribute welcome packages, onboarding materials, gift cards, approved worker funds, SIM cards, mobile phones, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate PPE and CSA-approved boot fittings, arranging exchanges when required.
• Work with employers, unions, clients, vendors, and government agencies to complete onboarding documentation, direct deposit forms, and employment records.
• Monitor worker progress throughout deployment, resolve issues as they arise, and elevate concerns to management.
• Maintain accurate deployment records and provide regular updates on worker status and onboarding progress.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring every worker is fully prepared to report safely and confidently to site.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in deployment coordination, onboarding, settlement services, or workforce mobilization.
• Experience with Canadian onboarding (SIN, AHCIP, banking, orientation) is an asset.
• Strong organization and coordination; able to manage several groups at once.
• People focused with strong customer service; able to support groups of up to 30 workers.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), workforce management platforms, or ERP systems is considered an asset.
• Bilingual in English and Tagalog is strongly preferred.
• Valid Alberta Class 5licensewith a clean driving record (Class 4isan asset).
• Reliable personal vehicle for work travel ( Mileage reimbursement is provided for approved work travel using a personal vehicle ).
• Able to travel extensively around Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Fort Saskatchewan (about 75-100%).
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and extended hours.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
