Job summary

Sporting Life Group is seeking a Hard Goods Department Manager for our Ski and Bikes team in Markham, Canada. You will lead a dynamic shop floor, delivering exceptional customer experiences while coaching a high-performing team.

You’ll partner with an assistant manager to hit sales targets, manage KPIs, and optimize scheduling, inventory, and merchandising for a standout department. This role emphasizes service, product knowledge and safety.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of retail leadership experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized multitasker who can manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve issues promptly.

What You\'ll Do;

As a leader on our shop floor, you’ll blend your love for the outdoors with operational expertise to create a standout retail experience. You’ll set the tone as a role model for outstanding customer service, fostering a fun, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

While partnering with your assistant manager to achieve sales targets, manage team KPIs, and maximize profitability. You’ll coach your team to be product and trend experts, ensuring they’re equipped to guide customers to their perfect gear. You’ll manage scheduling, inventory, and merchandising to keep your department running smoothly and looking sharp.

• Deliver outstanding customer service, resolving issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction at every interaction.
• Executing visual merchandising standards, including analyzing product needs and implementing weekly plans to optimize sales.
• Acting as Manager on Duty, leading by example in daily operations, motivating the team, and ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures.
• Prioritizing health and safety by identifying workplace hazards, providing training, and adhering to Occupational Health and Safety standards.
• Supporting recruitment, staff development, and performance appraisals to build a strong, high-performing team.
