Job summary

The Marshall Group-Staffing, Recruitment & Employment Agency (Dental & Medical) is assisting a Whitby dental office in finding a Level II Dental Assistant. The role requires experience and a relevant diploma or NDAEB certificate, with no Fridays.

You will support restorations, take x-rays, sterilize instruments, and assist the dentist throughout procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Diploma or NDAEB certificate.
• Ability to work with dental team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with crowns, bridges, extractions, fillings, implants, and root canals.
• Sterilize instruments.
• Place and remove rubber dams.
• Take diagnostic x-rays and expose dental radiographs.
• Maintain patients' mouths clear and dry during procedures.
• Take preliminary impressions for study models.
• Apply sealants and topical anesthetics.
• Record medical history and relay to dentist.
• Advise on oral hygiene and plaque control.
• Make patients comfortable before, during and after treatment.

POSITION/JOB REQUIREMENTS:

LOCATION

• Kendalwood Road & Dundas Street East (free parking)

HOURS

• Mon & Wed 12-8,
• Tues 10-6
• Thurs 9-5,
• alternate Sat 10-3

COMPENSATION

• $TBD depending on experience and performance

JOB OVERVIEW

• Assists with restoration-crowns and bridges, extractions, fillings, implants, root canals etc
• Sterilizing instruments
• Placement and removal of rubber dams
• Taking x-rays of patients' teethand exposing dental diagnostic x-rays
• Using suction and swabs to keeppatients' mouths clear and dry during procedures
• Taking preliminary impressions of teeth for study models
• Applying pit and fissure sealants and topical anesthetics
• Questioning patients about their medical history and recording theinformation for dentist's reference
• Advising patients on dental care, oralhygiene and plaque control programs
• Making patients of all ages feel comfortable before,during and after dental treatment
