Job summary

Applewood Dental, a Dawson Dental Family Practice, is seeking a Dental Assistant who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced team. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, assisting dentists and hygienists, taking dental X-rays, and upholding IPAC standards.

The wage for this replacement position is $24-$30/hour, depending on skills and location, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
