Job summary

Dawson Dental Barrie is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in a busy clinic in Barrie. You will prepare rooms, assist during procedures, and manage patient charts with emphasis on comfort and quality care.

Ideal candidates are registered or certified dental assistants with Canada’s provincial body, with prior experience preferred and a commitment to infection control and patient education.

Qualifications

• Registration/certification as a Dental Assistant with provincial body is required.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments to ensure patient comfort.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral care.

Your Role:

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Assistdentists and hygienists during treatments,maintainingpatient comfort and workflow
• Take dental X-rays and digital images asrequired
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Establish strong patient relationships whilemaintainingethical professional behaviour

About You:

• Registered and/orCertified as aDental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or associationisrequired
• Previousdentalassistingexperience is preferred
