Job summary

Flanagan Foodservice Atlantic is seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver to transport and deliver customer orders within mainland Nova Scotia from our Dartmouth yard. You will ensure DOT compliance, complete delivery paperwork accurately, and provide excellent customer service to support strong client relations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 license with at least 2 years' experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
• Proven truck driving experience with clean driving record.
• Ability to accurately complete delivery and transportation paperwork.
• Physical capability to perform deliveries with a two-wheeled cart and climb into truck cabs.

Responsibilities

Job description

At Flanagan Foodservice, the Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation and delivery of customer orders within mainland Nova Scotia, based out of our truck yard in Dartmouth. This position requires meticulous adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to maintain compliance and safety standards. The driver is responsible for accurate handling of delivery paperwork, ensuring all documentation is complete and precise to facilitate smooth logistical operations, for providing good customer service in the delivery process, supporting good customer relations and retention, and to complete the delivery process using a two-wheel cart, pallet jack, etc. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to customer satisfaction by delivering products reliably and maintaining the integrity of the cargo throughout the delivery process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with Canadian DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
• Proven experience in truck driving with a clean driving record.
• Ability to accurately complete delivery and transportation paperwork.
• Physical capability to perform tasks such as climbing into truck cabs, lifting, pushing and pulling to perform deliveries with a two-wheeled cart, up and down ramps, steps, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
• Previous experience in the transportation and warehousing industry within Canada.
• Additional safety certifications related to cargo handling and vehicle operation.

• Accurately complete and manage all required delivery paperwork.
• Plan and follow assigned routes to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers across various locations.
• Load and unload cargo, including carrying wheeled items and climbing into and out of the truck cab as necessary.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings using peripheral vision and body movement to navigate inclines, steps, and other physical challenges safely.
