Position: Deli Kitchen Clerk - Prep Cook (Full Time)
Location: Windsor
Department: Deli
Wage: $19.00-22.00/hr
Shifts: Complete open availability, weekends required
Position Summary
As a Deli Kitchen Clerk, you focus on maintaining the highest quality standards for all food produced in the Deli Kitchen, supporting daily operations and overall success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete prep work for various Deli areas, including Panini/Sandwich Prep, Packer, Prep Cook, and Salad Bar Production.
- Follow and complete daily production sheets.
- Assist with preparation of products according to company recipes and specifications.
- Wash, soak, cut, peel, and chop ingredients manually or with machines.
- Package, weigh, and label products, using Cry-O-Vac (ROP) when appropriate.
- Check and record food temperatures regularly.
- Practice FIFO product rotation to minimize spoilage and waste.
- Organize, rotate, and stock workstation and department supplies.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, fryers, and ovens.
- Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and work procedures, reporting hazards immediately.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
- Attend scheduled shifts, trainings, and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Basic knowledge of Oliver’s kitchen recipes.
- Basic cooking and grilling skills.
- Proper food handling and safety procedures.
- Team player with ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions and prioritize tasks.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic math skills.
- Conversational English; bilingual preferred.
Education, Certificates, Licenses
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Food Handlers Certificate (ServSafe or equivalent).
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work around food allergens, lifting up to 50 pounds, and constant standing/walking.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, wet/dry conditions, and use of tools and chemicals.
- Use of protective footwear required.
