Job summary

Walmart Canada at 1477 Island Hwy, Campbell River, BC, is seeking a Deli/Bakery Associate. You will zone the department to keep shelves and displays organized, rotate stock, check expirations, and ensure pricing and signage are accurate while upholding cold-chain standards.

You will take Deli orders, prepare hot foods, bake and thaw bakery items, and follow procedures for ordering, markdowns, labeling, and shelf sign maintenance. Minimum wage starts at $18.70 per hour.

Position Summary

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
