Job summary

Wal-Mart Canada Corp in Winkler, MB is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service while maintaining the Bakery and Deli areas. You will zone departments, assist with stocking, and prepare deli items to meet guest needs.

Onsite position requiring adherence to food safety guidelines, cold chain standards, and accurate labeling. Minimum age 16 or older; wage starts at the posted hourly rate in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels
