Job summary

Walmart Laval, QC seeks a Deli Bakery Associate who delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining and organizing the Bakery and/or Deli areas. You’ll assist with stocking and helping guests with their purchases.

You will zone the department, rotate stock, ensure signage and pricing, comply with cold chain standards, prepare deli and bakery items, and follow guidelines for freshness and food safety. Starting wage is CAD 19.05 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented with a friendly demeanor.
• Knowledge of food handling and safety practices.
• Ability to rotate stock and manage inventory.
• Competence in ensuring pricing and signage accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
