Job summary

Walmart Canada in Milton, ON is seeking a Deli/Bakery Associate to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining the Bakery and Deli areas. You will zone departments, rotate stock, and ensure items are signed and priced properly.

The role involves preparing deli and bakery items, handling cold-chain checks, and following food safety guidelines. Compensation starts at the minimum hourly rate with opportunities to support various quick-service tasks.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and products are in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise and prepares hot foods.
• Prepares deli food orders using utensils; rotisserie chicken; side dishes for display.
• Prepares bakery merchandise following thawing and baking guidelines for quality and appearance.
• Follows procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
