Job summary

Matchtech seeks an experienced Project Lead for permanent employment in the Defence & Security sector, Canada. The role supports the Deputy PM across planning, production, engineering, and subcontract scopes to deliver critical defence projects.

You will manage daily/weekly workforce planning, coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, and drive risk mitigation. A technical degree and PMP or equivalent certification are preferred, with security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Project Management or Operational environment.
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field, preferably in a technical or engineering discipline.
• Sound knowledge of Project Management principles and operational management.
• PMP Certification or equivalent, or actively working towards certification within eighteen months of achieving this role.
• Strong communication skills to foster relationships and clarity of requirements.
• Submarine experience is considered an asset.
• Experience with integrating complex datasets using tools such as PowerBI is an asset.
• Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Deputy Project Manager in coordinating interdisciplinary teams for planning, production, engineering, commissioning, and subcontract work scopes.
• Lead the development of daily and weekly workforce plans and assist in creating detailed project planning schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors' requirements, HS&E, execution strategy and deliverables.
• Manage subcontract activities on-site, including daily reports and performance monitoring.
• Develop team metrics to monitor operational performance and provide proactive solutions.
• Ensure material availability and manage prerequisites to delivery as required.
• Actively manage issues to ensure timely project delivery.
• Focus on project delivery to meet or exceed cost and schedule targets.
• Participate in risk management in consultation with the Delivery & Risk Teams.
• Foster strong relationships with all stakeholders, promoting a culture of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and challenge existing procedures.
