Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced project leader to deliver secure, complex defence and federal infrastructure projects across Canada. You will guide projects from planning through design, construction, commissioning and closeout, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and aligning with clients, regulators, and DCC.

The role requires 7+ years in complex infrastructure, strong communications, and the ability to obtain federal security clearance; English/French skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related; professional designation such as P.Eng. or PMP is a plus.
• 7+ years of progressive project delivery experience, including defence/federal infrastructure projects.
• Experience with maritime/shipyard projects is required.
• Proven ability to manage complex capital projects across scope, schedule, budget, risk and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), federal clients, or similar public-sector bodies including procurement, contracting and compliance.
• Experience with alternative delivery models such as Design-Build, P3, Construction Management, or Alliance.
• Strong commercial, client and stakeholder management with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance; bilingualism EN/FR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead defence and federal infrastructure projects from planning through closeout.
• Set up project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, governance, and risk controls.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams while ensuring scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk accountability.
• Collaborate with clients, DCC, contractors, regulators and stakeholders to resolve delivery challenges.
• Deliver projects via Design-Build, D-B-F, Construction Management, Alliance, P3, and Design-Bid-Build models.
• Oversee security, regulatory compliance, QA, and safety for defence facilities.
• Support account planning, pursuits, proposals, and repeat business in defence/federal sectors.
• Mentor project staff to foster an inclusive, high-performing project culture.
