Making Waves is hiring part-time swimming instructors who love helping kids develop real swimming skills and confidence. You will lead small, high-energy lessons in a warm, supportive environment and communicate progress to families.

Qualifications

First aid and lifeguard certifications are required or in progress.
Evidence of ability to teach and supervise safe swimming lessons.
Interest in ongoing coaching development with Making Waves.

Responsibilities

Teach swimmers using our Small Steps approach and build water confidence.
Lead safe, structured, high-energy lessons for small groups.
Encourage progress and celebrate achievements with families.
Maintain professional, warm communication with parents/guardians.
Create a fun, positive learning environment and support the team.

Our story started in the summer of 1994, when our founder taught 50 kids to swim in his parents’ backyard pool. Not exactly a corporate headquarters, but it worked. It gave us the freedom to focus on what still matters most today: real progress in the pool, strong relationships with families, and giving back to our community.

Today, Making Waves has grown, but our focus is the same: helping swimmers build real skills, real confidence, and real progress in the water. We bring energy, experience, and care to every lesson, while keeping things positive, welcoming, and fun.

We’re building a team of standout instructors — energetic, dependable people who love helping swimmers grow and making lessons the best part of someone’s week.

What You’ll Be Doing

Teaching swimmers using our proven Small Steps approach
Building water confidence and real swimming skills
Leading safe, structured, high-energy lessons
Encouraging swimmers and celebrating progress
Communicating with families professionally and warmly
Creating a fun, positive learning environment
Supporting your team and helping the day run smoothly
