Job summary

Kids & Company is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations in our daycare environment. You will help with meal preparation, portioning, delivery to classrooms, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness.

The role requires 2+ years in a kitchen assistant role, a high school diploma or GED, a current Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain), a valid driver’s license, and a clean background check. Physical ability to lift up to 45 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Daycare experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
• A clean criminal record check is required.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal and snack portioning and delivery to classrooms.
• Assist with food preparation tasks, fruit preparation, and kitchen support duties.
• Prepare and organize meal service supplies and delivery carts.
• Collect dishes, utensils, and service equipment from classrooms.
• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and store dishes and equipment according to food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and storage areas.
