Job summary

Sunshine Village Corporation in Banff is looking for a Daycare Assistant Supervisor for the Winter 2026/27 season. This role involves overseeing daycare operations and engaging with children in various activities. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in childcare and a level three certification in Early Childhood Education.

You will assist in ensuring a safe and constructive environment while supporting the Tiny Tigers Program and managing staff. Perks include free ski passes and discounts at ski resorts across Canada.

Qualifications

Job Description

Daycare has a reputation as a busy, fun, dynamic place to work. This position reports directly to the Tiny Tigers Supervisor and assists in overseeing day‑to‑day operations of the daycare and associated ski lesson programs.

What can you expect?

Assisting Supervisor to oversee all day‑to‑day operations, ensuring a safe and constructive environment and aiding in the Daycare based Ski School Programs.

• Assisting the Supervisor to oversee all day‑to‑day operations of the Daycare and associated ski lesson programs.
• Overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the Daycare as part of the Tiny Tigers Program.
• Helping to ensure that the Daycare facility is clean, neat and orderly at all times.
• Engaging with parents to ensure that first and last impressions are the very best.
• Interacting and engaging with the children in a range of activities and educational experiences.
• Helping ensure that the Daycare programs operate according to budget where revenues, labour costs and operating expenses are concerned.
• Helping train, coach and manage Daycare staff to ensure that they stay animated and engaged.
• Helping snow around the Daycare entrance, exterior, learning slope and the conveyor lift.
• Helping to ensure that financial and booking transactions are accurate, balanced and complete.
• Ensuring that the Daycare meets both governmental and company standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

And you have:

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years related experience in addition to:
  • A level three certification in Early Childhood Education.
  • Past experience working with 3 to 5 year old children in a childcare setting.
  • Proven experience managing a group of up to 10 staff.
  • Infant First Aid.
  • Valid Ski Instructor Certification is an asset.

Additional Considerations:

• Employees must always be of a sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
• This position is also in a high‑altitude environment. An appropriate level of physical fitness is required.
• Some required uniform pieces are provided. Candidates must be prepared and wear appropriate footwear, gloves, layers, etc. for the conditions of an indoor/outdoor role at a ski area.
