Job summary

Wesgar is seeking a hands-on Shipper / Crating & Skid Builder in Port Coquitlam, BC. You will build wooden skids, crates, and packaging to protect products for shipment, using saws and power tools, and safely operate a forklift.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and efficient packaging in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have woodworking or crate-building experience, are comfortable with measuring and cutting, and can work in a full-time, day-shift setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in carpentry, woodworking, wood fabrication, crate/pallet building, or a similar hands-on trade is strongly preferred.
• Experience using saws, hand tools, and power tools safely and confidently.
• Valid forklift operator certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Build standard and customized wooden skids, crates, and shipping supports based on product size, weight, and configuration.
• Measure, mark, and cut lumber accurately using saws and other appropriate tools.
• Assemble skids and crates using hand and power tools.
• Determine suitable packaging methods to safely support and protect products during transportation.
• Pack and secure manufactured parts to minimize the risk of damage during shipping.
• Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, move, and organize products and materials.
• Assist with general shipping and receiving activities as required.
• Ensure orders are packaged correctly and ready for shipment on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and use tools and equipment safely.
