Job summary

Okta is hiring for a Datastores Engineer in Platform Infrastructure. You will build and maintain large-scale distributed storage infrastructure and tools to empower product teams to deploy and manage their datastores across cloud environments.

The role emphasizes reliability, cross-team collaboration, and on-call responsibility. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of software development experience, a passion for scalable data storage, and proficiency with Golang, Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in or willing to learn Golang.
• Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling.
• Comfortable with data storage systems at scale (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Develop large, distributed, highly-available infrastructure.
• Implement platform tools to deploy and manage datastores for services.
• Research new technologies to accelerate environment creation.
• Lead cross-team initiatives end-to-end: reviews, security hygiene, reliability.
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation.
