Job summary

GIRO Inc. is seeking a Database Reliability Engineer to strengthen the stability, performance, and evolution of our production databases.

You will maintain, operate, and support more than 75 data environments using SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and DBaaS, driving automation, observability, and platform resilience. You will collaborate with development, support, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver reliable services to clients worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience administering and supporting databases in production environments (cloud and on-prem).
• Expertise in data platform reliability, availability, resilience, and performance.
• Experience with automation and platform engineering, including scripting to automate recurring tasks.
• Knowledge of automation languages and tools (PowerShell, Shell, Batch).
• Strong observability concepts: monitoring, alerting, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement.
• Strong customer support, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for complex issues.
• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL.
• Version control with Git.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the transition toward DBRE practices focusing on automation and resilience.
• Diagnose and resolve database incidents impacting applications.
• Provide advanced technical support for database performance, integrity, and availability.
• Support database imports, exports, and conversions for client projects.
• Collaborate with development and project teams to optimize processes and performance.
• Contribute to automation of recurring operations and DBA practices.
• Develop deep product knowledge within a complex technical landscape.
