Job Opportunity: Database Engineer (Contract) - Montreal, QC (Hybrid)

Compunnel Inc. is hiring for US and Canadian clients across various IT roles. We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer for a 12+ month contract in Montreal, QC, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure database infrastructure stability, scalability, and capacity planning.
2. Develop and optimize database components such as stored procedures, ETL processes, and queries.

Technical Skills:

1. 3-5 years of experience with relational databases, especially DB2 Linux or Sybase.
2. Scripting experience on Linux platforms using Perl/Python and Unix/K-Shell.
3. Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, including indexing, statistics, reorganization, and memory management.
4. Ability to create high-quality, optimized stored procedures and queries.
5. Knowledge of Greenplum and Datalakes is a plus.
6. Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
7. Experience in the finance domain is advantageous.
