Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Data Stewardship & Data Governance Consultant to help turn data stewardship and data cataloguing into a repeatable capability. You will collaborate with the Enterprise Data & Information Governance team to build frameworks, processes and materials that ensure sustained governance.

This contract-based role focuses on governance design, playbook creation, training enablement and stakeholder collaboration, with hybrid work from Ottawa, ON.

Qualifications

• Enhanced Reliability clearance is required.
• 5+ years in data governance, data stewardship, information governance, business process management or business analysis.
• Experience building governance frameworks, operating models, standards and procedures.
• Experience creating playbooks, templates, checklists, process maps and implementation toolkits.
• Experience mapping end-to-end processes, roles, decision points and governance requirements.
• Experience facilitating workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Experience supporting change through training, onboarding and adoption activities.

Responsibilities

Data Stewardship & Data Governance Consultant

Contract: 8 months | Hybrid | Enhanced Reliability required

Morson Edge is looking for a Data Stewardship & Data Governance Consultant to help our client turn its data stewardship and data cataloguing program into a sustainable, repeatable capability. You’ll work closely with the Enterprise Data & Information Governance team to build the frameworks, processes and materials that make stewardship stick.

What you’ll deliver

• - A Stewardship Operating Model & Framework: roles and accountabilities, procedures, standards, governance and templates
• - A Project Delivery Integration Package: lifecycle requirements, intake and assessment processes, project playbooks, checkpoints and implementation guidance
• - A Community of Practice & Enablement Package: charter, support model, onboarding, training, communications and reusable guidance

Along the way you’ll support Data Catalogue onboarding and metadata curation, define data quality requirements (rules, thresholds, ownership, monitoring), and provide structured knowledge transfer to the internal team.

Must haves

• - Enhanced Reliability clearance
• - 5+ years in data governance, data stewardship, information governance, business process management or business analysis
• - Proven experience building governance frameworks, operating models, standards and procedures
• - Experience creating playbooks, templates, checklists, process maps and implementation toolkits

• - Aviation, transportation, infrastructure or other regulated / safety-sensitive environments
