Job summary

Geotab in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to contribute to data exploration, transformation, and productionization for a product pillar. You will design metrics, build data models, and work with a team to analyze trends and support data-driven decision making.

The 4-month, full-time paid internship runs January 2027, with a standard 37.5 hours/week schedule and an onboarding week. Ideal candidates are pursuing engineering, math, or CS and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
• Interest or experience in sensor data and data cleaning.
• SQL and Python experience.
• Experience using BI platforms like Looker, Power BI; Superset is an asset.
• Willingness to learn and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct new metrics and data models using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and analyses.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other technical professionals to analyze trends and enable data-driven decisions.
• Assist in dashboarding and visualizations for coverage and accuracy metrics of data science models.
• Generate queries from Geotab’s Big Data Infrastructure (BigQuery).
